¿Who are we?
Boibel Forestal was born in 1992 launched by a group of young Galician engineers trained in various scientific and technical areas related to forestry and agricultural sector. They decided to start a business initiative that develops 3 branches of the forestry sector.
With a great deal of enthusiasm, hard work and being the premise of their actions “a job well done”, in a few years, Boibel has achieved recognition among professionals and industrial users and customers of this sector, as a forest service and an engineering company and as a nursery.
Forestry & ornamental nursery, as producers of mainly leafy plant, for forestry and environmental use, highlighting the production of Castanea x hibrida (hybrid chestnut).
Forestry services, dedicated to silviculture and specialized in the plantation and maintenance of leafy deciduous.
Engineering services
Engineering services, dedicated to counseling, development and drafting of proyects from the agroforestry field and rural environment.
Today, Boibel Forestal continues to work with the same dynamic and innovative spirit that defined its inception. Our two decades of experience in the forestry field have endowed us with a profound understanding of the rural environment, including its needs and demands. Our goal is to keep delivering solutions through new ideas and initiatives that emerge daily within our company.
The nursery
Forest nursery Boibel produces a wide variety of forest, ornamental and environmental plant in various formats and sizes.
The chestnut Castanea hybrid or x coudercii, is our most prized product, as we produce more than 30 clones suitable for producing wood, fruit or rootstocks and resistant to cinnamon root rot. (Phytophthora cinnamomi).
In forestry production Boibel is specialized in leafy plants with bare roots of species such as Alnus glutinosa (alder), Betula celtiberica (birch), x hybrid Castanea (chestnut hybrid), Fraxinus excelsior (ash), Juglans regia (walnut), Quercus rubra (American oak) … and many more!
The Nordmann fir (the quintessential Christmas fir) and Abies nordmanniana is our main production in ornamental plant for use in gardening and as Christmas trees.
Also, Boibel produces other ornamental plants: short shrub species such as Cotoneaster horizontalis (cotoneaster), hedge species such as Thuja plicata (red – cedar) and Buxus sempervirens (boxwood), Prunus laurocerasus (cherry laurel) and bushs with a high aesthetic value as Ilex aquifolium (Christmas Holly), Taxus baccata (yew), and Abies nordmanniana (Nordmann fir) … we have a wide variety of species at a very competitive prices!.

The nursery business Boibel Forestal is located in A Coruña, specifically in the village of Pazo de Galegos, in the town council of Frades, which has excellent conditions for growing ornamental and forest plants in nursery because of the heavy rainfall throughout the year. Summer drought periods are non-existent, the summers are mild and winters are cold, providing excellent conditions for the production of well proportionated plants, with sustained growth and high resistance to bad weather which facilitates and ensures the success of their adaptation to their future habitat.
